The Hamilton Steel Hockey Club is preparing for the Spring 2026 season with Prep Skates for players interested in competing for Hamilton Steel teams during the upcoming 2026–2027 hockey season
Hamilton Steel offers competitive development opportunities across multiple levels including AAA, AA, A, and Major Development (MD) programs. Spring Prep Skates give players the opportunity to get on the ice with Hamilton Steel coaches, compete alongside other players in their age group, and prepare for upcoming tryouts.
Prep Skates are optional and space is limited.
All sessions will take place at:
Chedoke Twin Pad Arena
91 Chedmac Drive
Hamilton, Ontario
Players must register under their correct birth year division.

U8 & U9 Major Development Prep Skates – April 2026
Hamilton Steel will host U8 MD and U9 MD Prep Skates designed to introduce players to the Hamilton Steel development environment while preparing for the upcoming tryout process.
Eligibility
Players may participate if they:
• Played or were registered during the 2025–2026 season with an OHF member partner within the City of Hamilton
This includes players from:
• Players registered with a centre not offering Prep Skates
Schedule (Subject to Change)
U8 (2019) – Major Development
Tuesday April 7 & Thursday April 9
5:30 PM – 6:30 PM
6:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Group 1 and Group 2 will rotate ice times.
U9 (2018) – Major Development
Tuesday April 7 & Thursday April 9
6:30 PM – 7:30 PM
7:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Group 1 and Group 2 will rotate ice times.
Cost
U8 MD & U9 MD Skaters: $40 per player
Goalies: No charge (4 spots available)
Prep Skates have a NO REFUND policy.

U10 to U15 Prep Skates – April 2026
Hamilton Steel will also host Prep Skates for U10 through U15 players, providing athletes an opportunity to prepare for upcoming team tryouts and experience the Hamilton Steel development environment.
Prep skates are optional and spots are limited.
